book list

I vaguely remember a time when I would read many books. Sometimes I would read a book in one day. Then along came this stamping hobby and reading books went on the back burner. Don't get me wrong, I still love reading. However, when I finish stamping and sit down to read I seem to fall asleep. I have been reading one book for the last 6 weeks. I miss the days of getting into a book and not being able to put it down. I haven't found a book like that lately. So I would like your help. One of my goals for 2008 is to read one book a month. To do this I need to find great books that will keep my interest. Do you have any great recommendations? I would love to hear your list of must read books. Please help me make my 2008 book list.

eat, pray, love by elizabeth gilbert is a must read. i'm only on chapter 12, but it's been beyond great thus far. also, a friend encouraged me to read something borrowed by emily griffin. there's also something blue and baby proof by that same author. hope that helps! happy reading!

by the way, there's an excerpt of eat, pray, love online at amazon if you want to check it out.

#1--I really loved the Harry Potter books. I know there is a lot of controversy about there about them, and I have spoken to my pastor even about it, but I think as along as you keep in mind it is just fantasy . . . they are really fun books.
#2--Marley and Me was pretty popular this past year, but I would read it again if I had the time.
#3--Anything by Joyce Meyer. I think she is AWESOME! :) Kelly

The first book I thought of was Marley & Me; absolutely wonderful story!

I saw your 3-day link too! This year will be my 4th walk. Good luck!

My favorite book reads of last year were the outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I have never read that sort of book, and enjoyed them tremendously!

I also really enjoyed the Harry Potter books. Didn't think I would get into them, but thoroughly enjoyed each one.

I read lovely bones a few years ago and recommend it - alos any book by Kaye Gibbons or Amy Tan, two of my favorite authors. KG wrote Charms for the Easy Life, and it is one of my favorite books ever.

My favorite book was The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Nuffenigger (sp?). OMG I couldn't put it down!
Just One More Day by Mitch Albom was really good too. That one is a shorter book so it would be good for those times when you need a "quickie".
I second the Outlander series too.
Thanks for the other recommendations - I've jotted them down too.
Happy New Year,
